The most effective way to bring about deep and lasting change in any student’s life is to live by example before preaching. When a teacher or mentor sincerely follows Christ in their daily life, prays regularly, reads the Bible, and walks in obedience, their life speaks louder than their words. Students are naturally influenced by a person who doesn’t just talk the talk, but “walks the walk.” Being connected to the Christian community, maintaining fellowship with born-again believers, and demonstrating truth and holiness in one’s conduct—all these things inspire students to follow the right path without any special sermons. This kind of authentic Christian life becomes a living lesson in itself, which no words can fully replace.
The Importance of Collective Daily Prayer and Holy Bible Study
Collective prayer is not just a formal activity, but a time when God’s Spirit is given the opportunity to work and speak freely—whether through the teacher or in the hearts of the students. When everyone in the class is given the freedom and encouragement to participate in prayer, it fosters spiritual courage and faith. Often, students hesitate or don’t know what to say, but they should be taught that the words come naturally once they begin praying, as it is inspired by the Spirit. Similarly, Bible reading should be made a regular part of the class. When students develop the habit of daily prayer and Bible study, they learn to make the right decisions in life. This habit helps them reach the paths they desire and makes them worthy of the blessings they hope for.
Building a Personal Relationship with Jesus Christ
Along with corporate worship, spending time with God on a personal level is also crucial. Students should be taught that daily private prayer and Bible reading strengthen their one-on-one relationship with God. The Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit is our helper, teacher, and comforter, who loves us deeply. When students wholeheartedly believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and surrender their lives to Him, they experience spiritual rebirth. Baptism then follows as an act of obedience to the Great Commission given by Jesus in Matthew 28. This personal faith subsequently shapes their character, decisions, and the direction of their lives.
Awareness of Social Life and Influences
It is essential for students to understand that their social circle can either build them up or tear them down. The Bible clearly warns that bad company corrupts good character (1 Corinthians 15:33), and Proverbs 13:20 instructs us to walk with the wise. In today’s digital age, social media has become a powerful influence, posing a threat to both children and adults. Negative ideologies, inappropriate behavior, and unhealthy comparisons can easily enter lives through social media. Therefore, students must be taught to be mindful of the people, ideas, and activities they allow into their lives. This is a great responsibility that requires wisdom and spiritual discernment.
The Value of Community and a Culture of Responsibility
Having a strong, God-fearing community in life is a great blessing. When students are surrounded by people who hold them accountable, pray for them, and speak words of blessing into their lives, their spiritual growth is even stronger. A trustworthy and godly community—whether through family, church, school, or friends—that consistently walks in obedience and bears good fruit is a special blessing from God. If a student doesn’t currently have such a community, they should be taught to pray for one. The right kind of fellowship not only provides support during difficult times but also inspires them to continue moving in the right direction throughout their lives.
